Dr. Wallach's complete list of the 90 essential nutrients — pulled straight from his own materials, nothing added, nothing left out.
60 minerals (including the trace elements most lists skip), 16 vitamins, 12 amino acids and 2 essential fatty acids. 60 + 16 + 12 + 2 = 90.
Tick what you know is in your daily routine, count the ticks, and see the gap. Most people land between 10 and 25.
The short version of Dr. Wallach's reasoning — from veterinary formulations to the soil — attributed, in plain English.

Some you've heard of. Most you haven't — that's the point.
The trace mineral behind his 1991 Nobel Prize in Medicine nomination — by the Association of Eclectic Physicians.
One of the 60 minerals on his list that almost no diet is checked for.
One of exactly two essential fatty acids he counts — the body can't make either.
Dr. Joel D. Wallach (BS, DVM, ND) is a veterinarian and naturopathic physician who, together with his wife Dr. Ma Lan, performed more than 20,000 autopsies across 454 animal species and 3,000 humans — and kept finding the same thing: nutritional deficiency. In 1991, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Medicine by the Association of Eclectic Physicians for his selenium research.
He is now retired. This checklist is the "what"; his books carry the "why."
