The condition your doctor manages — and Dr. Wallach says can be reversed
Metabolic syndrome is the cluster behind much of modern chronic illness — type 2 diabetes, elevated triglycerides, abdominal weight gain, and high blood pressure travelling together. Conventional medicine treats each piece with its own prescription, usually for life. In The Metabolic Syndrome, one of his most recent books, Dr. Joel Wallach makes the argument he's spent fifty years building: this is a nutritional problem with a nutritional answer.
Drawing on the same research that produced Epigenetics and Hell's Kitchen, Doc lays out the causes and symptoms as he sees them — and the methods he believes can reverse the syndrome rather than merely manage it.
Paperback: $19.95
If you've been told your bloodwork is "trending in the wrong direction" — sugar creeping up, triglycerides high, waistline growing — this is the book where Doc addresses that exact conversation. Written in the same direct, no-hedging voice millions know from his videos.

Educational content presenting the author's research and perspective
The five-part cluster
How Doc defines the syndrome — type 2 diabetes, high triglycerides, abdominal obesity, elevated blood proteins, and high blood pressure — and why he treats them as one problem.
Manage vs. reverse
The book's central controversy: the author's belief that lifelong prescription management is the wrong goal when the underlying deficiency can be addressed.
The nutritional root cause
The dietary patterns and missing nutrients the author connects to the syndrome's rise — and what he says to change first.
Fifty years of context
How this book consolidates the arguments from Doc's earlier works into his most focused statement on metabolic health.
