What Livestock Get That You Don't — Free Guide | Dr. Wallach Library

Free 3-page guide

What livestock get that you don't

A cow's feed is formulated to include every nutrient it can't make — measured, dosed by weight, fed daily. Your plate isn't. Dr. Wallach, a veterinarian, built his life's work on that gap.

  • The farm-vs-table comparison, side by side on one page
  • The "Doc is a vet" story: the zoo, the autopsies, what he kept finding
  • Why "he's not a medical doctor" is the point, not the problem

What's inside the guide

Dr. Wallach's core comparison — complete, mineral-supplemented feed for animals versus a depleted human diet — told through his own story.

Farm vs. table, side by side

What a livestock ration is formulated to include (and why the farmer can't skip it) next to what a typical human diet leaves to chance.

DVM

The vet story

The St. Louis Zoo project, 20,000 autopsies across 454 species and 3,000 humans, and the one finding that kept repeating — attributed, in his words.

90

Where it leads

The 90 essential nutrients, and the "farm plan" for people: the book first, then the foundation.

Cattle eating formulated feed from a wooden bunk beside a mineral lick block

Three lines from the comparison

Same vertebrate biology. Very different plan.

Dosed by body weight

A 1,200-lb cow and a 60-lb calf don't get the same scoop. Nobody weighs your dinner.

Trace minerals in the ration

Selenium, copper, zinc, cobalt, iodine — mixed in, plus a free-choice block in the field.

"Just eat well"

The advice he says he's heard doctors give for fifty years — and why a farmer would never accept it.

Dr. Joel D. Wallach

Who is Dr. Wallach?

Dr. Joel D. Wallach (BS, DVM, ND) is a veterinarian and naturopathic physician who, together with his wife Dr. Ma Lan, performed more than 20,000 autopsies across 454 animal species and 3,000 humans — and kept finding the same thing: nutritional deficiency. In 1991, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Medicine by the Association of Eclectic Physicians for his selenium research.

He is now retired. This guide is the comparison; his books carry the whole story.

Read the comparison. Then the story behind it.
